It is a circulating cashiers check from (I believe) the Foochow branch of the Central Bank of China. It is similar to P-450G in the Standard Catalog of World Paper Money. They were issued as emergency currency during the inflationary period at the end of the Communist Revolution in 1949.
The left piece is a receipt for a check. The right piece is the check itself. These two pieces do not go together, however, as the serial numbers are different.
Thanks, looked into my SCWPM and it definitely looks like one of the provisional notes. It does look strikingly similar to the Foochow branch notes but if it says 1945 Minguo I guess I'll search some more to find out more about it. Thanks for your help.
