Was it part of the Bank of Canada hoard? It seems to lack the lustre of the hoard coins, so I' m going with MS 62

Nope..it's not a 2012 BOC release. Dollarman I posted the 1956 results.

Amazing coin. I never tire of looking at the Canada $10 golds. I'm hoping to get one in a year or two. I'll say MS-63.

Based solely from the picture, I'd say it has a very good chance at an MS64.
MS63 for sure.

Hard to see if there is any luster , but looks like a real nice 62 chance at 63

MS63. If it had lustre, it could be MS64. Very little bag marks except on the rim.

I was warned by my coin dealer in Sydney, with four decades experience in the coin business. He is also a highly respected lot describer in major international numismatic auctions:
There are a few fakes about, of exceptional quality, of the '13 Canadian 10 Dollar. They were struck on blanks, using common but lower grade U.S. Eagles, so that the gold is of the same alloy and weight. I will have to admit: I can't pick them.
From the pictures, this coin looks to be about MS62 or 3. I would have liked to examine this one more closely in hand without clear plastic slightly obscuring it, then take it to my dealer friend for his opinion. Such is not to be.

I also have heard that there were fakes of this gold coin out there. That's one of the reasons why I sent it in to be certified and authenticated.
