Forgive my ignorance, but I've never asked for any rolls at the bank before. Do they typically give you brand new coins or a mix of circulated coins? More specifically, do the rolls come from the mint or are they just coins they get from circulation that they re-roll?

Mostly circulated coins either customer wrapped or from a coin processing facility (such as Brinks, Guarda etc.). Sometimes these facilities deliver solid date rolls of new coinage.

Usually they are circulated coins. Very rarely do I see brand new coins.

That is a more complex question than you might have realized...

The best place to start is the beginning, the Mint... well they are a government organization so they are lazy, they just mint coins by the millions and dump them into HUGE canvas bags... something like 4 foot by 4 foot by 4 foot... then send them off to a coin rolling company... Brink is one, (many others exist... but I'll put 'Brinks' as a generic term for this post)

'Brinks' takes all the 2014 nickels they get from the mint and puts them into rolls then sells them to banks... the banks give out those rolls and at the same time take in change...

The change they take in either goes into rolls they make themselves or get's sent back to 'Brinks', then 'Brinks' re-rolls them and sends them back out in rolls.

So the simplest answer is Yes... new and old and very old.. but less and less silver each year

When I buy a $25.00 box of cents from my bank I tell then I want a box with older wrapped cents not customer wrapped but, fed wrapped or "company " wrapped like Brinks. Living in a real small city I have been skunked by buying, "customer wrapped." Some of these where even sorted by all the cents being in reverse or obverse direction.
I know there is another rascal in my area that is doing the same thing I do. It is called CRH

I also have much better luck with company wrapped coins vs. customer wrapped. I ask my "favorite teller" if she can give me the plastic wrapped rolls of quarters, and she always does. She even gets rolls out for me on my "pick up" day.

Interesting...I've run into customer wrapped coins that were sorted for the LWCs, a bit of a downer, but LMC varieties are there for the picking. Also, when they aren't sorted, I find that I can get into a run of higher copper rates which generally means more LWCs. So, I will take customer wrapped coin if it is available. Boxes are more stable, but usually yield fewer LWCs. So, 6 in one hand, half dozen in the other.

It can be a crapshoot.
Rest in Peace

It is Signature which I believe is not up in your neck of the woods.
The rascal/s are a few individual that I suspect are into this crazy, "coin roll hunting."
How dare they, taking over my territory!
This is a small city/town I will soon run into these culprits.

Having searched close to a half million $ in coin over the last few years, I have only received two mint rolls, which were nickels.
