I stopped at the bank on the home from work today to pick up a box of cents to look through while Arthur passes by. Asked for halves also and they had 2 rolls. I did not expect much from them and did not even bother to open them until I got home. This was me when I unwrapped the first roll. It is by far the best silver haul from the a bank I have had in nearly five years! Out of two rolls this is what I got. It has been a long while since I scored any silver from rolls.

That's incredible! You hardly ever hear about Barbers from circulation.

I'm really going to have to work on my social skills. I'm not 100% in love with bank tellers.

The only other Barber I have ever found in the wild was an 1898-S quarter I received back in change at a convenience store about 3 years ago.

Tim, you lucky dog!! I would put those coins in a can. Then I would label it " the silver bank hoard of July 3,2014". Then write a one page story about that day and how you got those coins. That way when you pass that can onto your kids or grand kids they will cherish those coins even more.

I say all this because I wish I knew how and what the stories were behind my own grandpas coins I receive every bday and Christmas. He's been gone 27 years. Just a thought. I think I might start doing that as well.

Great score!

I like that idea Mr Click. I can just add the few odds and ends I am finding in the cent box to that little stash also.

Update* The 63-D appears to be an RPM-001 also. I am going to try and determine what stage it is.

Congratulations. I bet some teen raided their parent's collection, or alternatively someone inherited an older relative's collection and was too stupid to realize these were silver?

More likely that because silver's down, more collections are being dumped. I've seen this twice, first after the run of '79-80, until about 2007. It's happening again, can ya dig it?
