Matteproof Pillar of the Community Korea, Republic Of 1881 Posts	Posted 07/03/2014 6:10 pm I am thinking when the metal sheet got flattened (in the process of making planchets), there was a piece of debris stuck between leaving an impression of it on the metal sheet (kind of like a struck thru).Then a blank was punched out in that area and it got struck with the dies. I believe the damage was on planchet before the strike It might have been struck through a thin detached lamination peel from another coin.
