Ksammut..I am not sure what that is.. Like a chunk was just never there..I original got it for its date 1925S. And then noticed the peeling..thought that was neat..but overall thought it might be PMD. I wonder if Coop looks at these threads bet he could figure it out.

Biokemist.. What causes this? This is the only coin like this I have seen in my hand (other than here) and seeing posts.. Thanks everyone for the posts!! Its a keeper in the book..just because its different!

Laminations are caused by a flaw or impurity in the alloy which leads to poor bonding.
