I have just learned this about PCGS labels...and, IMHO, it's "unsavory" at best, and, downright wrong at worst...a bulk submitter can crackout a 5 Oz, 2010 ATB(say, a NGC SP70 Yosemite, or, PCGS First Strike SP70 Yellowstone, for example)...then, they can request a Mercanti Insert. with a unique, low pop coin#...
One would HOPE(haaaaaaa), that these would only be allowed within a certain time frame of a coin coming into "circulation"...so...they make certain "First Strike" time frames,(about within 30 days of mint 1st day of sale) but, negate them for signature inserts...Am I nuts, or, does this seem kinda crappy? The CREEPY thing is, some of these Mercanti Insert labels DO have low pops(and, can be considered "rare", in that sense), but, others do NOT, and, they are lumped into a "generic" coin number, and, higher pops..it's all so secretive, and non-transparent....creepy, indeed.....
