Most were probably made within the past 100 years. The scene, the Ram Dubar, is from the Ramayana, and features Rama and Sita seated on a platform (dubar) for Rama's coronation, flanked by Rama's half-brothers, Lakshman to the left, and Baratha and Satrughna to the right. "Mickey Mouse" offering prayers before the platform is actually everyone's favorite character from the Ramayana, the monkey-god Hanuman.

Thanks guys! How does one find out if he has a modern repro or the real deal? Would a good local shop be able to tell? Do I or would it be worth sending it somewhere?

Welcome mjhaman! I'm no expert but I know that Indian temple tokens show up fairly regularly in this Identification forum. That suggests that they are not terribly rare and were probably produced in large quantities, which means that they probably aren't worth very much. That suggests that they probably aren't frequently reproduced or counterfeited. Yours certainly looks authentic and I see no reason to doubt that it is. It's real value to the person who originally received it would have been spiritual rather than monetary. Unless you happen to be Hindu, I think what you have is a very interesting curiosity piece.
