OK, so I finally got around to taking pictures. Taking accurate pictures of coins is challenging. Finding the right light and angle to make the color accurate is extremely difficult. These are pretty close to how it looks in hand, and on the reverse photo the color is a bit more accurate than on the obverse. For some reason I'm having a hard time capturing the green on the OBV. Based on the actual photos like some opinions, since the color is so unusual. It's a PCGS MS-64 RB. As a collector: I really like the uniqueness of the color, as well as the eye appeal. Many "red-browns" have some red with splotchy patches of brown. And normally when Lincolns tone it's a dark brown that really hides the detail. On the negative side there's really not much red to be seen. On the positive instead of actual "brown", it's a much more appealing (IMO) light green. As an investment: I was wondering how you experienced collectors feel the general market will feel about the unusual color when it's time to sell. Feel free to be brutally honest. A Side Note: CDN Monthly just mentioned the 09-SVDB by name. It reads: 1877 Indian cents, 1909-S VDB Lincoln Cents, 1916 Standing Liberty quarters, are all similar examples of coins that ran up quickly only to see too much exposure as collectors dumped excess inventory for big profits. I believe now is a very good time to cherry pick through these issues for high quality coins at current levels. One can even justify a small premium for nice pieces, because I fully expect another strong demand cycle to occur in the next 6-18 months. Levels have stayed flat for too long, and I can no longer find enough material to fill customer want lists. Therefore, levels seem destined to rise soon.

I'm not one to give good grades or value advice, but I can tell you that I do love that colour. I know exactly what it must look like, as I've a couple of nice Canadian cents that have turned a beautiful green, with some gold toning as well. Lovely coins. I think there will be someone out there who would appreciate it when you decide to sell. After all, you liked it, and so do I.

Very nice example. I've always liked green and blues on cents, so having it on there is another plus. Is this what you got instead of the three legged buffalo?

Beautiful coin. You just bought something me and my dad have always dreamed about owning- I'm envious.

This is a coin I have wanted for 50 years.
Unless there is some sort of personal financial windfall, it's a coin I can never afford to own.
Nice to look at it however.

I haven't been into the US cents thing in a long time, since I was a kid collecting wheats out of change(I must still be a kid, cause I still get them) But several months ago I plopped down a Ben and Ulysses for a 1914-D, it was a stupid impulse buy. I say stupid because now I want the '31-S, the 09-S VDB etc. The only other semi scarce date I own is a 1926-S I found in front of Mission San Jose peaking out of the dirt on the edge of the sidewalk.
USArmy, I like it. The colour is rather nice in my opinion. I think the problem with the image is not the coin, but that the photographer has to work on shooting it, believe me I have coins that DO NOT like to be photographed.

Yes, it is. I still really like the three leg, but I decided on this. quote: whoa! can I have it?
trade you for that car in your avatar! quote: The only other semi scarce date I own is a 1926-S I found in front of Mission San Jose peaking out of the dirt on the edge of the sidewalk.
That is awesome! It's been my dream to just find a key or even semi-key. If that ever happens it's be my favorite coin in my collection. Somehow finding coins vs buying them just means more.

Because of the huge price jump from 63 to 64, I'm actually thinking about selling it and buying a nice 63 Brown.
With the extra money I can pick up some very nice semi-keys.
