The apeture I am having trouble with but I took some pic's
with live shoot it's a breeze. took some copper and silver shots... lots of trouble with these if they have luster..

in the past these have been difficult to photo.. DMPL...I'm thinking they are ok shots.. but best black on cameo I have taken yet...

These next are basic 101.. 10 and 2 oclock light wich I didn't like....but then agian its about the color of the photo's... I know I have a lot to work on with lighting... but how in general does this lens do?

Lens appears okay but you have a LOT of work to do on your lighting.
One setting does NOT work for all coins with proof, proof-like and high luster MS coins being particularly difficult.
Surf the Net for hint on numismatic photography.

Thanks Kanga, lighting has always been my bane....I don't shoot enough or have the time between projects to really dedicate and get something figured out. dollars are much more than a basic 10 & 2 o'clock lighting..and I have too much to learn about post processing.which I think would be a great topic!! hint hint!
