This appears to be raised, and I wonder if a sliver of copper (possibly a detached lamination from another coin) got struck onto the planchet. Comments appreciated.

Seems to be a crack of sorts. I've not seen anything like it. Those in the know shall saunter by.

It is a die crack, they will occasionally extend into the wheat ear and then back to the rim and finally develop into die break( Cud).

Thanks guys. Most of my studies have been with Morgan dollars, and those die cracks look a little different. Guess that's why I ask the experts.
