It's a "what if" fantasy. Specifically, "What if the Viking colonists in North America had been prosperous enough to become an independent kingdom and make their own coins?".

Anlaf Guthfrithsson is the one I had on a coin I got a the Jorvik viking centre when I was about 9 or 10

As soon as I posted "reproduction", I read the legend and thought "wait, that has got to be a fantasy!".

It is a fantasy based on Viking imitations of Anglo-Saxon silver pennies

I like the one I saw where you see the typical reverse of a Morgan dollar and on the other side you read a date something like 1864(!?) and it has liberty in an indian headdress left..
