1863 Indian Head Cent Die File Marks

There are bold die file marks by the ear. In a PCGS MS65 CAC holder. My attribution guide does not list this, but it is a few years old. Report this Post to the Staff

beaglebailey Pillar of the Community United States 716 Posts	Posted 07/12/2014 8:31 pm Die file marks are actually damage and I guess it is up to to the individual to decide whether he wants to collect them as a variety. The 1875 IHC S6 and S15 (there may be others that I don't remember)varieties have fairly heavy die file marks and have generated some collector interest. I think your coin compares favorably to these other varieties so Snow may consider it. My attribution guide, like yours, is old and I know there are quite a few newly discovered varieties missing.
