SeriousCERES, thank you so much for your informative passages to answer the two questions above. So readable and I will definitely bookmarked it for latter reference for French monarchs.

Though Louis XIV never called himself the Sun King, and even never forced his subordinates to hail him as a Sun King. But it seems some trivial evidence showed his predilection for Apollo or Sun such as he had costumed as Apollo in a drama and the designated constructions in Versailles.

Now at least I know the sun icon on the 1704 coin is not a praise to Louise XIV.
