Title says it all. I'm getting most of my dimes for my set through coin rolls and while grading is kind of a scam imo, it would be nice to know how my ungraded coins fare to already graded ones

Average? Probably VF-20 or so. However you can get a corroded AG details coin and MS in the same roll, so I don't if the average matters.

pocket change rolls from the bank will never compared to graded coins unless you get virgin rolls from the mint. If they are virginal, you are in the MS66-68 range easy.

A lot of older graded coins were pocket change at one point.

"Average Circulated" is a very subjective phrase. It defines the average circulation on any year/type/mint-mark of coin. This is pretty much "In which grade is this coin most commonly found"
A Roosevelt would be Average Circulated in AU while a Bust Dime (After 200+ Years of wear) should be G or aG. A Seated quarter may be XF or is we`re talking about a rare date such as the 1848-P Average Circulated could be VF. Just use PCGS Photograde (pcgs.com/photograde) to get a general idea of any coin you're having trouble grading.

Plus don't forget your collection is self-selected for the better end of whatever you are finding. Too ugly? Throw it back.

Average grade for modern coins is XF - AU, although I see P1 coins in circulation alongside modern Shield cents that grade MS68.
