Some last comments from me on this one -
Since I snagged this specimen, the pawn shop owner (a younger guy who
inherited the business from his father, who knew his coin stuff) has wised up a bit, and if a Morgan looks any good at all, it's no longer going into the castoff tray, but has been often getting sent off for certification. The problem is, he still hasn't developed the knack for assessing his wares accurately, as I see that too many of his submissions have come back with "details" annotated grades. So now he's beginning to on his own overgrade anything that looks decent and put in out raw at a consequently inflated price. So I'm despairing of ever repeating something like this again there, although I'll still stop by and do whatever business I can with him. Funny thing is, when I bought it, he had just put it along with some others in the tray right in front of me, then actually commented as I was paying that it looked proof-like. Go figure.
