Well it took some planning to do this since I cannot order boxes of halves at a clip but I finally have a setup going. Here 's the tale.

I walked into a local big name bank near my home and asked the teller mgr for any halves. She had 12.00 worth in her drawer and proceeds to tell me she has more in the coin vault. It turns out this particular teller mgr orders boxes of halves and dollar coins for her customers because she gets some many requests. Long story short I open an account there and in week 2 I get 120.00 in halves I have found a 1964 jfk and a 1954 Franklin.

This works for me and the rolls of halves are not CWR. The only slight down side is I have to take the loose halves to TD bank and use that coin machine they have. But I found just yesterday a silver dime and quarter in the reject bin while dumping . So just maybe its not a downside after all.....

It beats buying silver halves off the bay for $ 8.00 each.

Nice start. I wish I could start doing this! Going back to college in a month doesn't justify the means of opening accounts and a dump bank etc.
