Interesting Ike Issue. - Coin Community Forum

stampvirgin Pillar of the Community United States 1247 Posts	Posted 07/19/2014 10:02 pm Earlier this month I bought a 1976-S 40% Proof from my LCS for 5.50 Today I bought a 1976-S BU 40% and paid $15.00. He cut it out of the mint packaging for me. I select the best one I could find. Seems there is a difference in price between the proof and BU. thoughts? Report this Post to the Staff

Darth Morgan Pillar of the Community United States 2815 Posts	Posted 07/19/2014 10:22 pm I think that the proof being a "65" is most likely the reason for the much lower cost. The price of silver proof Ikes suffer hard at lower grades. At least that is my perception. At any rate, I would buy a PF65 silver Ike for $5.50 without hesitation! Good score.
