Might be due to the scratches on the coin (several nice ones on it), and since it appears to have marks in the field, or are those marks spotting of some kind? If they're spotting, then I'd say it should probably be MS-63, I wouldn't say 64 since I'm fairly certain there are some good scratches on the cheek...

Cleaned and somehow considered worthy of a net grade rather than a details grade.

Oh, I would never have suspected a cleaning. What are the telltale signs?

The seller is asking for a MS-63 price.

For lack of a better way of explaining it... the "glow" on the reverse around many of the devices.

I dont like the field. I can also agree with it being lucky not getting a details grade.

Too much "noise" in the prime focus areas.
I'm not surprised by the "less than" MS-63 grade AND IMO it's reasonably graded.

Also I'm pretty sure I know who the seller is.
Asking -63 money DOESN'T surprise me if I'm correct.

I have no problem with the assigned grade. That said, I have no interest in most coins at that grade. Would rather have a really nice AU.

My question would be if the seller sincerely believes that the coin's undergraded, why not break it out and send it off to NGC or PCGS to get it "right"? The obvious answer is that there's risk involved that it may not come back with as trouble free a grade as it got in the first place. The seller's blustering in this regard is so much baloney, and in fact they do the same with respect to many other of their listings of certified coins.
Colligo ergo sum
