I would like to sell my first coin on ebay and I'm clueless... I have looked up other Double Monticello 39's on ebay and see some in poorer condition than mine go for more than $30-40's, and others that looked the same or worse for over $100! Why the big spread in value? I also see some that have been certified that look like they are in the same condition as mine... Based on the pics below, would mine be worth the cost of sending it out to be graded before I sell?... Will the pics below work well enough for sell on ebay, or do they need to be better? What do you think the grade of my coin would be?

OK enough question, thanks in advance!

I think those pictures are fine. Just be sure and say that they need to grade it themselves and go with what they think.

this is a details coin. I'd just put these photos up, they are certainly better than many photos sellers use, it shows the coin in an honest manner, don't grade the coin, but if you do make sure you don't put your grade in the title, (against ebay regulations to post a grade on a raw coin or one not certified by ANACS, ICG, PGCS or NGC), if you do offer a grade in the description make sure that it is only YOUR opinion. Start the bidding fairly low, hope for the best. Also I suggest blocking low or poor feedback rated users, and starting the coin at a time when both coasts are home from work to get more potential bidders to participate, i.e.; don't end the auction at 3:00am on a weekday. I usually have mine end around 7:00pm PT and 10:00ET that way everyone has had a chance to get home from work and not so late they are already in bed.

It is tricky getting a good ending time for both coasts.
