1946-S inverted S Double die BU GEM?
bought the penny because the S looked upside down and at closer look it was doubled. there is evidence of notching in the motto IN GOD WE TR and in LIB via Liberty

I'm debating whether or not the L is notching or not. I also think I see a separation line on the E of We. But better pics would help

I just got my coin and only have my small camera I take out for coffee with me. When I see under my loop there is notching on the LIB across the motto right to the TR in trust. However, my biggest concern is that..Is this the inverted extremely rare variety, the doubling is just an added bonus for me LOL.
I will get better picture tomorrow in the day light. Thanks for your reply Coincollector2000

Thanks

Edward

My first impression is it's Machine Doubling, but I could be wrong.

It looks doubled to me. I see what looks like notching. And there are no 'drag' lines as Machine Doubling has.

It's 1DO-004 in my opinion which is also listed as 1MM-029. Not an inverted MM it's a Serif Style S vs. the Ball S.

Very nice find!

At the very least, a nice DDO... I don't know enough about the MM to comment on that.

I agree with ksmcents. It is a DDO and listed as both a DDO & RPM.

Hello all, thanks for your opinions and help. Are these combinations of being a DDO and a IMM (what is a 1MM-029 mean?) rare or worth a decent dollar in this type of MS RED condition?

There are prices listed on the Coppercoins website for MS65 it says $30. The best way to find a value is to check ebay and see what others have sold.
