I was just on the RCM web site and noticed that several of the original images for coins from the latest release appear to have been replaced. The new images look to me as if they might be images of the actual coins vs. the earlier artist renderings?

Are others seeing the same thing or am I imagining it?

Nothing wrong with having a good imagination - They still look like renderings to me...

I've had another look and decided I'm not imagining things. The RCM has definitely updated some of the coin images.

Check out the images for the Salmon Hologram coin, the Red Trillium, the Bank Note Lion, the Butterfly, the Tulip, the Dinosaur and even the WWII silver dollar.

They are all less "perfect" and show what appears to be actual production surfaces/colouring vs. the original artist renderings.

I think it's a positive step for the RCM.

You are definitely not imagining things commems, I see it too. I think what the RCM does is once they release new coins they first have the artist renderings in place. Then, when its about the middle of the month, the RCM displays the actual images of the coins. No idea why they do this but I think it helps them show off the coin better and I agree, I hope they continue to do this.
