1909 Wheat Cent. Cuds? Not Sure What This Is?

It's beat up, ugly, corroded, and generally pretty gnarly... but I can't figure out what these two 'blobs' are? One on the obverse, another on the reverse. Almost directly aligned. Almost, but not quite. What has me curious is that they are raised, and appear to have been on there for a very, very long time. Could pass for Cuds, but I'm not sold. I can't quite come up with any 'logic' of putting them there. They're not solder. Not welding machine-esque. Etc. Just looking for other opinions. Thanks. Report this Post to the Staff

Not sure what happened to it but the coin is in pretty bad shape to even be able make an assumption. But if I were to guess this is PMD not an error because front and back are affected and it just don't look right. It almost looks like someone shot it with a bullet and bullet stopped in coin.
