So I have this and it it very new but could this be caused by the printing process?

I have seen these sell on ebay. Yes I believe that it is caused when the note is cut. I would measure the width of a regular note if your is larger and then gets smaller than a regular note then it should count as an error. If not then it is just a regular note with a piece of the top missing.

Thank you Crathorlation for posting on my behalf (I was not a member until today). The note is miss cut and still has fragments from the cut on top. It is also about a mm or more missing on the left side. Is very noticeable from the revers side. It is a 2012 circulated bill. Am wandering if anyone else has come across a miss cut or defective Canadian bill? Is it a rarity?

Here is a couple more pics of the Miss cut 20. I received this from the TD bank machine yesterday. For the one I put a bill under it so the difference in the cut could be shown.

Any info on this kind of bill would be great, as I have not found much out there in the way of information. Thank you! :)

Probably badly edged sheet of paper before it went trough the presses and they cut the sheet and just sent them out to the banks.
