Thanks Dar. So you agree it's 002? Even though you would not want to buy it, what value would you put on it? John1

I can't actually say if it is from the pictures. It looks close but I would want to see better picture's of the PUP's and Markers to be sure. there is a lot of PMD on the coin.

I personally cant see anybody paying more than a dollar for that. The coin suffered to much to really have a decent value. And I cant see if its 02 or not. Its definitely a class VI but closer pics would help me determine what one it is.

It looks like it could be 002. Damage seems to be hitting all the sweet spots which is unfortunate. I have a couple variety coins that have damage. Not sure on the values either but I keep them until I can replace them with new finds. If you put it on auction you might attract a few bids but maybe not more than $10. Pure guess on my part.
Cool find!

Probably right on your guesstimate John. For the two I have I'm pretty sure I wouldn't even get that so they are set aside for now as I scour for better specimens. And our hunt continues! Good luck!

John1 Don't feel bad though because I pulled a 1994 1DR-001 in a lot worse condition than this. I probably couldn't even get a dollar for that one either. The coin looked like it was in a parking lot for awhile till someone picked it up. But I found another 1994 1DR-001 a week prior to that one around 65 grade so was not complaining to much. Just hate it when such nice die varieties suffer the wrath of the outside world.

You must be getting old! Glad you have one. You might try the expirement on ebay now that you have a better specimen.

It might be a coin that I would pass on to a new collector. Sometimes I get bonus coins from an ebay purchase. The computer I'm using now is hard to see if it 002 though.

We are all heading downhill - so to speak. I remember when I didn't need glasses to read papers but now, needed unless the font is quite large. I envy our new collectors and recall the days when seeing a variety like this one could be done with the naked eye. No longer. So stay young John - defy the odds if you can!!

I just need longer arms to read. Far away is OK, closeup....... Find the reading glasses.
