I have good news and bad news then a little more bad news, but then some really good news...

Good news is, my mom has some coins she wants to know how much they are worth so the guy at the coin shop doesn't rip her off. The bad news is they were my grandfather's and they were supposed to be passed down to my brother and I after my mother passes away. The little bit of bad news is that my mom needs to sell them in order to pay off some credit card bills. A little more bad news is that my hard drive on my work computer died on me. Luckily I backed up everything, but I can't scan any of the coins let alone take pictures of them. The really good news is that I will be getting a brand new computer in about a week or so!

Anyways here is a small sample of what she is trying to sell...

-1985 Uncirculated Coin set both D and P mint marks
-2 1972 Eisenhower dollar prrof sets
-Bicentennial Proof set

There are more but she has to find them first.

That really is good bad bad and then good news. Here's some more news:

Bad news: It's always sad to have to sell coins for cash. Believe me, I know.

Good news: the coins you've described so far aren't too hard to replace.

Bad news: That means they aren't worth too terribly much.

Good news: I'll lay odds you could offer to sell them for her for more than she could get from a dealer. I'll bet you could get more right here on this very website

they really arent worth much at all. maybe $18 for all you've posted so far. they are very common so dealers will not pay a premium for them. you're best chance is to sell them to a collector. this site is a good place to find interested collectors.

Some good news is that I'd be interested in the 2 1972 Eisenhower dollar Proof Sets.

Docsfishn, I may take you up on your offer =)
My mom just found 2 1986 Prestige Sets
and more good news is that my new computer is coming in earlier than expected!
Instead of what was estimated as the 23rd, it will be arriving tomorrow. That means I'll be busy tomorrow installing all my programs, I will try to find some time in between to install and set up my scanner and get some images up.

In regards to the Bicentennial Proof Set- is it the denomination set or the 40% silver 3 coin set?

If you really must sell all those coins, stay with this forum. Do not try coin shops, private dealers, web sites. There is a possibility you could sell them all on ebay, but if I were you I'd stick with coin colletors right on this forum.
