Wildwinds seems to show loads of different versions of coins, but unless I'm missing something, doesn't show the approximate mint dates. I've been using this resource for determining whether a bronze is lifetime or not, but it doesn't include most markings. http://alexanderthegreatcoins.reidg...bronzes.htmlFull "Alexandrou" and not just the BA abbreviation, seem to be mostly lifetimes, but I'm not sure. An alpha mark above the bow, also seems to point to a lifetime issue. What other marks should I look for or avoid for lifetimes? Would these be lifetime issues? The bow case looks different than others I've seen. Alexandrou is spelled out, but that's no guarantee. http://www.ebay.com/itm/LOVELY-AE18...em5667ed366dAlexandrou is spelled out and the bow looks elaborate like in the first example in my reference, but there's no alpha mark or trident head. I have no clue what the mink mark below the club is. http://www.ebay.com/itm/ALEXANDER-I...em51c0a1d059If you have any links to for sale lifetime Alexander III bronzes under $50, I'd appreciate the help. Preferably Macedonia mints, if I'm going to be picky. Edited by lod254 07/28/2014 3:07 pm

For my price range and lifetime requirement, I've been mostly limited to bronze for now. Tets are really nice. I peek at the smaller silvers and bid them up to $50 and then say goodbye.

Lifetime bronzes have the name spelt out in full and were minted from 336-323bc the issues with BA on them excluding the Shield bronzes are from 325bc onwards.

Your coin is a lifetime issue. As long as the coin doesn't have the title of BA or Basileos Alexandros on it the coin is a life time issue.

I agree it is a lifetime issue GR58. Lod254 if you want a nice bronze I suggest $150-200 would be a good price to get a good lifetime coin.I have a number of bronzes on my list that I am personally interested in but if e you want some recommendations (even if they are on my list ) I'd be happy to give you a few. If you are interested PM me and I will give them to you. Just notify me which type you are interested in (shield/helmet, horse/rider, bow/club) and I will get together a few more links of the preferred type. Hope I helped you out.

GR58 - If you look at the reference I had, that looks like a clear example of the first example. That is like my ideal find. Where did you get yours?
So any bronze without the BA is for sure lifetime?
Is there an easy way to tell if it's a Macedonia mint vs West Asia Minor? I think those are the only two...

Yep any bronze without BA is purely lifetime but those with BA apart from the shield/helmet series were minted late lifetime 325-310bc.
The series you are interested in were all minted in Macedonia at either Pella, Aegae or Amphipolis.
The coin looks nice a good start tho personally I think it may hit £50-75 prehaps more. Tho make sure the seller has a lifetime guarantee of authenticity first.
