@gill3814 - that's great that you have a good rapport with your bank and tellers. I guess I just don't go into my local branch often enough and when I do there's typically a line so I don't want to chew up too much time with the tellers. At this point I only have my script down for asking for halves and dollar coins; perhaps I can tweak that request to include any "odd" paper bills too and see what works.

Again, great hits here! Those are very nice notes, IMO.

Celtic, I just let the tellers know back in the day to save anything pre 1950 that they get. Just try to be as polite as possible

When you score something special from your teller thank him/her with a giftcard to Starbucks, Panera Bread or something similar.

Little things like that will help them to remember you when something really, really special gets turned in.
