now I wish the coin guy would have put more than 10k in insurance on it. well I hope my lil lottery ticket pays off. never would have imagine that the coin could be worth so much. feel pretty ignorant for tossing it in with the ret of my scrap silver too.

I watched this thread because OP is from my home state but never heard back.
I guess the coin was a fake and the coin shop just submitted it on a hail mary. If you have coin questions in central Indiana ALWAYS see the guys at Lost Dutchman.

Where is the list Dutchman? I live in East central Indiana and have been looking for a good coin shop. Tried Silver town but they recently stopped selling coins. And yeah I'm guessing it was fake. If not someone had no idea what they had.

lost dutchman is in Indianapolis. The owner is one of the 2 guys that runs the podcast "Coin Show" on iheartradio. It's a pretty good podcast. I've never been to the store but seen their stock at coin shows and it appears to be decent.

I've done on-line business with Allen's in Westerville OH for years, for everything from US gold to French silver. I don't know whether you ever travel to Columbus OH but they're worth checking out. http://www.allensinc.com/coins/

I'm assuming that if we don't hear back from you, the coin came back counterfeit? Best of luck!

Well considering he was last here a year and a half ago I don't think we will be hearing from him.

I didn't even realize this was a old post that had been bumped, oh well, just another counterfeit bursting someone's bubble.
