Well, My ( Am Scope SM-1TX ) arrived in the mail today and after playing around with it I can say it is Just what I wanted.

It came with the 0.5x Barlow lens which I tried first. It had Great images and with a 165mm working distance was Very comfortable.

I removed the Barlow, which reduced the working distance to 100mm and increased the magnification from 3.5x-22.5x, (With Barlow), to 7x-45x, (with out Barlow), which is a MUCH Better image. But I found that I have to bend my neck more which is rather uncomfortable.

I am about to undergo some spinal surgery and the greater working distance will work better for me but I would like to keep the magnification to the true 7x to 45x, (with out the Barlow).

Now please correct me if I'm wrong here BUT, if I get a set of 20x/10 eye pieces, wont that keep me at 7x-45x magnification AND let me have a working distance of 165mm as well?

If it will, then that is what I will need to keep from bending and straining more, which will be a GOOD thing.

Can anyone verify this for me please?

Thank you in advance.

Dar

P.S. I moved this from an older thread to maybe get more attention. Hope that's o.k.

Dar...you are right, going to 20x will double your magnification at same WD. However, 20x eyepieces will be less pleasant to use with less eye relief, narrower viewing angle, less sharpness, etc.
