I think a main part of any hobby is the thrill of the hunt and the anticipation of getting a good deal is something that keeps alot of people in their hobby. I know it's something I always look forward to. I didn't find this thread at all boastful, just someone wanting to share their excitement with fellow collectors. OP, you did nothing wrong. If someone doesn't like the thread and feels it serves no purpose, that's their problem. Can't wait to see pics!

Don't you just love that giddy /excited feeling you get when you're about to get a great, and large, deal?

Yes, I do!!

I feel this way as well. I feel if folks don't like the thread they're reading, they should post nothing, move on and read the next one. IMO, negative comments serve no purpose on this Forum.

That being said, constructive comments, IMO, are always welcome.

Remember: We're all learning, we're all growing our numismatic collections, and we all need to work together, patiently and accepting of all levels of collectors, to promote the hobby we all love.

Namaste.

Are the common dates least expensive coins on APMEX? The lowest prices are $219 but you can't get those prices on ebay.

Did you sell them on ebay? If so they sold for $2874.30. Maybe sell a couple more and get 3 for free?

Nice score! Show some pics of what you kept.

And wow, I am suprised how many people want to complain about this post. Its sad that after you read this guys story, and obviously felt you had wasted your time....that you felt the need to post a long complaint. If you dont like or agree with it, DONT READ IT! Let him and the rest of us enjoy the hunt. And I would have been extremely pumped at getting 7 cc morgans for free too!! Awsome hob!

Much better then! No fees no post office B.S. worrying if they are going to lose them and 7 free. According to APEX that is $1540 value. Good deal then.

Alright, I'm finally home, what a long day. Definitely worth it, though. Stupid traffic was crazy today.

So of the 18 I sold, most were MS61, MS62 or MS63. There was one that looked PL, but was definitely no better than a MS61.

Of the seven I kept, I'm pretty sure there is at least one strong 65 (more likely a 66), and several 64's. I'd estimate the net value of the seven coins I kept to be around $2500 at a minimum.

The seven that were kept will get imaged tomorrow probably.

That is a good idea though, to try selling coins to a dealer. I have two local coin shows where there are tables were people just buy coins along with dealers that are buying and selling. I will have to see what they will give me for coins I don't want to sell on ebay.
