Hey guys I'm very new to the coin collecting hobby, started getting lots of $200 a day and checking through them. Been finding the common errors noted around the internet, was going through some last night and I believe I have found a rotated die error on the 2001 20cent. Have carried out some tests on some paper trying to accurately measure the angle of offset. Not sure how you experienced noodlers measure this.
I used the flat of the "2" in 20 and transfered that over the the rear of the coin and marked orientation of queen neck point. Check with several coins of different years with the same head design and found that there are some 2001 that appear rotated.
I haven't seen anything on this yet but I'm only new so this may already be known.
Here are some pictures of my findings.
Will add photos when I get home tonight. Sorry uploaded on my mobile is not working.

Cheers appleangel07. I have 3 of them now! Here are the photos if any one was interested... ^This is the normal example of a 2001 orientation. ^Example of normal orientation from other years also. ^Example of a rotated 2001 ^ How I found my level point to take angles from.

I located my little stash of upset 20c, and much to my surprise, I found 1 x 2000 and 2 x 2004 as well as 8 more 2001's. All are platypus reverse. I have no idea how long ago I put them away, just some time after the 2004 ones started to circulate. 1 x 2000 2 x 2004 Small Head 8 x 2001 I have 9 but one is going on a short trip soon. So, here are some images of the 2000 & 2004, both are upset approx 10°, and I can only assume that because of the numbers I have that the 2000 are the hardest to find, with 2004 2nd hardest and 2001 as the easiest. 20c 2000 Upset 10° 20c 2004 Upset 10°

I use a Kaiser Baas Microscope to take all my piccies. Those 20c ones above were taken with the coins in a 2x2, to make sure I didn't rotate the coin at all when I flipped it.

Hey Nevol I just checked one of my 1999 20c pieces and found it to also have an approx 7-10* rotation. So there are a few variants out there to keep our eyes peeled for. Going metal detecting tonight but will post pictures as soon as I get home.
