Looks like XF rolls go for closer to $180 a roll. So $15 more... for 20 coins, that's 75 cents extra per coin. $9 each or thereabouts.

Link?

EF walkers at 8.75 each by the roll.

I would buy all of them as well.

What are you talking about? You're comparing apples and oranges. That lot doesn't resemble what the OP is talking about because it is a small amount of coins (5 coins?) has a Columbian half, and a semi-key walker. That's nothing like two rolls of 1930's and 1940's Walkers.

Here's a roll of early dates that went for $8.25 a coin;
http://www.ebay.com/itm/131256935502

Here's a roll of VF '30's and '40's that went for the same price;
http://www.ebay.com/itm/131250179638

And there's tons more examples on ebay.

Also, buying coins from the unwary? If I pay under melt for junk silver from a collection, it's because I'm shelling out a lot of money... I mean, the biggest collection I ever bought had about $1k in junk silver in it, I paid 95% of melt for the junk silver, sold it for 99% of melt. I think I laid out about $25k on that collection.

And for the record, I pay a heck of a lot better than most dealers in B&M's do because I have no real overhead and it's a hobby to me, not a living.

Whatever, you obviously took issue with my post since I paid $10 a piece that included coins with more numismatic value. Good luck with all the acquisitions but I am not getting into this with you. If you don't like what I am posting, don't read it.

Of course you can never go with ebay auctions since you know they can fluctuate greatly. Maybe you can Google to see if you can get them for $8.75 each. Buying from someone not knowledgeable is something else. The best selling option I have B&M is the local coin show. They pay a dollar under melt for a dollar's face of silver and they pay about what I have paid for coins. I don't usually discuss purchasing and resale though, just info about the coins themselves.

I don't have a problem with your post nor with the auction you won, I think you paid right around what retail is on it, I'm just saying it doesn't really compare to what the OP is asking about given that 40% of the coins in the lot have nothing to do with '30's or 40's walkers in VF-XF.

I dont need to google it.

A walker set in EF+ is the main set I am currently working on.

Sure, I maybe able to get lucky buying some off some bloke that knows nothing about coins, but that is an incredible rarity.

I would buy 100 FV at $8.75 of walkers in real EF condition. right now. This minute. The reason? because that would be a steal.

to the OP.

APMEX sells rolls of XF walkers for more than $10/coin(not including shipping or other fees).

So if that was your price out the door, and you got to hand pick them, you did well.
