Hoping to find out if this one is correct on the holder.

I was thinking I might try a light cleaning on this one ..
if it is not to valuable.

This is actually a very nice follis of Maximianus who was co-emperor with Diocletian.
no mint mark means possibly an early London issue or Lyon ? I can't remember at the moment but it is a western mint.
He is wearing his military uniform which is a plus and leads me to think London.
The coin is about a low end VF with definite improvement likely with proper conservation.
If it is a London issue around $40. If not around $30.

"Abdicated 305 BC." Well yeah, the first time. :)

Maximian pulled off the difficult trick of running an empire, then retiring, then rebelling against said empire's new leaders, then rebelling against his original rebellion, then retiring again. Then rebelling again. Quite the busy guy.
