My camera really didn't pick up the circulation cameo that's on it. Bought this several months ago before I didn't really know much about their values, I think I paid around $5 or 6 for it.
Also, I'm using improvised lighting, please tell me which of the two sets you like better so I'll do the same thing agin next time.

Actually, the coin's colour looks closer to this but this way it's too dark to focus on the obverse. The contrast between field and raised points are closest to the CA of Canada of this photo.

Are you sure it doesn't grade lower? All the middle beads on his crown are worn flat.

I like the second set of pics better.
Your coin would not grade lower than VG10.Though the beads are worn flat, the ear is complete, the end of the moustache is still visible, and the ribbons and regalia are still quite distinct.

Here's a book you should seriously consider.

Often available on ebay and at many dealers.

Thanks DBM. I will get the Charlton books when I come back, or borrow it from libraries near where I'll live (both are within 1km). A quick online search shows that they have a copy of them.

This coin was from a lot of 3 with a more worn 1924 and a 1927 that looks about as worn for $25. Not sure if I overpaid, and I don't actually know the individual prices of the coins.

The 1924 if VG8 is worth about $15, the 1926 about $10 so you didn't do too bad.
