Got a 30 min survey last night indirectly from the mint, possible 3 new coins they are working on, a bunch of questions and pictures of 2 Batman coins, 2 wolverine coins and 2 Christmas truce coins between Canada and Germany somewhere on the front lines in ww1 I believe.
I didn't save any of the pics but the Batman and Wolverine look cool ( well one out of the 2 choices did) The Christmas truce coin was ok I guess but not really my thing.

Thanks for interesting inside view, Northerncoins. Well, well...Batman and Wolverine....that's cool, but makes Superman edition more cheap. Like I said previously, will they ( RCM) put any picture of whatever on the coin and call it collectible? I will prefer then, for my kid, the "Perry the Platypus" coin from the "Phineas and Ferb" cartoon series.

My daughter has been bugging me for Batman ever since the Superman coins came out! She loves the 'Dark Knight' incarnation of Batman.

I've been hoping for a Batman coin forever so I hope it comes out. I'd love a Wolverine coin as well.

It looked sort of like the Christian Bale version in bat man begins only with bigger arms and meaner looking lol. There is a picture of that version here: go down to the picture that says "The Batsuit, worn by Christian Bale". http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Batman_Begins

The Wolverine was something like the first picture on this page but showing a bit more of him and in a different position but with the mouth open about the same way which I didn't really care for but I guess that's how he is. http://timmy-octavian.hubpages.com/...Comic-Books# br /

I am hoping that the RCM comes to its senses before it destroys coin collecting in Canada!! What are they up to, about a coin a day now ? Unbelievable.

I could not figure out the connection Batman has with Canada. Wolverine, yes, because the character is supposed to come from Canada.

Hmm good question, too bad I cant remember more of the details of the survey but they talked about the Justice league and those hero's as well, Not sure how Batman is tied into all that but it is Batman's 75 anniversary this year. Maybe its a DC commissioned coin or some such...

Have to wonder how they plan on spinning the theme to some how relate to Canada. I would never underestimate the marketing team though.
The force is strong with this one.

One could argue that the Canadian Mint is better than the US Mint. At the very least is more experienced in making a larger variety of coins including colored ones. That being said, it is not outside the realm of possibilities that DC Comics commissioned (or rather will commission) the Canadian Mint to make some US Batman coins (US coins, as in US face value). The Canadian Mint has had (at least as far as I can tell) a positive experience with DC in making the Superman coins. It is not the first time that the Canadian Mint has made coins for countries other than Canada.
All of this, of course, is pure speculation on my part.

Just did my survey, with different themes like Star Trek, Centennial flame, and geometric design. I really liked the geometric polar bears and maple leaf.

This can't happen. no mint other than the US Mint can strike US coins. It does so by order of the US Congress not private commissions.
