Hi,
Can anyone tell me if this coin is as special as I think it is? Should I send it to get graded and is that scary to do in the mail?

Photos can be deceiving but looks polished to me.

Silver dollars from 35-39 should not be that brilliant as they were punched from unplated coinage dies. It has been
possibly polished or dipped. If it was not for that, I would
grade it at MS64

probably polished as a lot of these early dollars were. Maybe a better pic for us ?

Thank you for your responses. I don't know when it would have been polished- my dad got it from his store as a form of payment more than 50 years ago. I guess people always did things to coins.
Sorry I'm not good at taking a picture but it is so shiny it's like taking a picture of a mirror. Thanks again

I just remembered dad had it wrapped in saran wrap, I wonder if that could have coated the coin. When I found it was sticky so I did wash it with soapy water and tried to be careful. Just a thought.
