Not sure if this has been shared already, but I found a webpage that I think may be interesting and helpful for coin collectors that currently aren't collecting ancients and those just starting out. Enjoy!

Here is another useful link from the same site:

I would add that they seem to think very highly about their Late Roman bronzes from the very high prices.

At least the info is free (not so much if you're paying for the internet to access it, but still)

I would be interested in what non-ancients collectors think of this information. Does it answer any questions or confirm or change prior preconceptions and beliefs you may have had about ancients collecting? Would you be more inclined now to collect ancient coins after reading the information in the links? Thanks.

Well folks, I have studied and collected U.S. coins for 20 years. Was the president of a local club for three. I won't say I'm "out" of U.S. coins but after having exhausted information in my area of interest there, I have recently taken an interest in the ancients. I started on this just a few months ago and seem to be drawn to the "Byzantine" era. Lots of interesting history to go with the issues, so I have been reading quite a lot an picking up used references on Amazon. (Thank God for Amazon!)

Anyway, I read the Littleton info and it is quite generalized. There are plenty of better sources for beginners, such as this forum. But kudos to Littleton for including ancients in their offerings. Promoting numismatics (all areas) is a good thing in my opinion because it might eventually lead some folks to learn some actual history.
