I have a UNI-SAFE Canada small cent book. What does NSS and SS mean on the 1953,1954? Also why don't they have the non magnetic and magnetic slots in the book? Thanks for any help

NSS = no shoulder strap
SS = shoulder strap
Same should go for the 1955.

As for your second question...I am guessing it is because the coins look identical.

I'm assuming that your book was printed/designed before the various changes were made to the Canadian cents. I use Whitman folders for my Canadian coins, and the last cent folder made contains neither the magnetic/non-magnetic varieties nor the change for "P" mints to " RCM" mintages.

Likewise, my older USA Lincoln Cent folder only had two holes for 2009, and not the eight holes needed for the actual variations.

I am too new to post links but if you search this forum for a thread called "Is this a 1955 shoulder fold or ano shoulder fold." you will find some great information on the two varieties by the member "RoyalSilver". Here is one of the pictures he posted. Their is a correlation between the "I" and the fold.
