First and foremost I am a certified "newbie" to Peace dollars and VAMs. I have been going through some of my coins and found this interesting 1922 that is in a PCGS slab graded MS63. I found 2 interesting features, one is the reverse die crack across the neck of the Eagle and one is an apparent "spike" protruding north through the eagle's shoulder. I would appreciate any opinions or classifications of these if you would be so kind. Do any of these features add value to an otherwise typical PCGS MS63? I tried various lighting conditions to best portray the issues but photography through the slab proved a bit difficult. I am here to learn from you the experts so my thanks in advance for any responses.

to CCF. The "spike" is either a die gouge or a die clash mark if that helps any.

The spike is a clash. It would help if you could post full obverse & reverse pics and indicate what mint the coin originated from.

The clash line has to reach the letters to be listed or has to be doubled clashed. Here is some attribution guide for Peace dollars. http://www.vamworld.com/Peace+VAM+Attribution+101

Image quality makes attribution difficult. Here is a good place to start:

You also need to look for other markers susch as doubling in the olive branches & leaves and is your spike a single or close doubled spike. Tough to tell from your pics. I tried to enlarge them but again image quality would not allow for a clear view.
