So...I have to ask, it would be a D/D/D, and would that be a new RPM that is not listed? I can't seem to locate it on coneca's master list, and we know it's not on the CC site. Any opinions? THX.

You might send very good images to Jame Wiles and see what he thinks on this one? It maybe something they over looked, or a different die variety? See where it goes from there?

I received a response back from James Wiles, but I'm a little confused. Would like hear any opinions first before mine. Here is a copy of the reply:

There does indeed appear to be a very minor split lower serif on RPM-007. Such minor splits are considered to be within mint tolerances and thus not considered for inclusion in the designation or listings.
Thanks,
James Wiles

So he is basically saying, that the die does have a D/D/D but they aren't going to change it. Seems like they missed the first time around and later on noticed this was the case.

That's exactly what I was thinking. We caught a mistake. He admits there is a split in the serif but I was surprised by his follow up: "Such minor splits are considered to be within mint tolerances and thus not considered for inclusion in the designation or listings."
So I guess that means if you find a double die but it's only minor, it's not a double die. 😳
I play a lot of tennis and we have a saying "if the ball hits the line and it's 99.9% out, it's actually 100% in....hope you get my point.
