A certain store at the fleamarket has a 12x4 table of just large amounts of fake jewelry, keychains, and little nicknacks. I was combing through it and I noticed that some foreign coins were mixed in, mostly all 70's and up, but then I found this little guy.

Looked like silver so I paid the dollar for it. All I know now is that it is silver, so I'll be heading back to that fleamarket.

Any more info/grade?

What you have here is a piece of 1 tenth of a gulden, issued for Curacao by the Dutch government in 1944. The ABC islands (Aruba, Bonaire and Curacao) as well as the S islands (Sint Eustatius, Sint Maarten, Saba), all located in the carribean area, are actually known as the Dutch Antilles and all have up to today some kind of connection with the Netherlands.

This piece is 64% silver, should weigh 1,4 g and measures 15 mm in diameter, should carry a reeded edge. It is actually made with the same specifications for the blanks as the Dutch 10 cent pieces of that time.
A total of 1500000 pieces were minted. At current silver price of 0.466 € per gram pure silver, the piece has a value of 0.4175 euro or 0.5617 US dollars.

Values in the Dutch coin catalog "Muntalmanak" (edition 2011) are (in euro): VF 1,5; XF 4,5; UNC 12

Since world war II was going on in the Netherlands, it was decided to move the mint dies to the USA and ask the US mints to produce the necessary coinage. At the right of the date on this coin you can see a D as mint sign, which means that this coin was produced in Denver, USA. However, on the left of the date you can see a palm tree as mint master sign. This mint master sign was created by the Dutch Mint for all mints that were issued from the USA towards other regions than the main land (meaning the Dutch Antilles)
