First off, welcome.

I concur that better photos of each side would be helpful. I believe you're mistaken with regard to the date. This ought to be a postwar Austrian issue made of aluminum dated 1946, 47, or 52. The '52 is the scarce one of that trio.

Hello and welcome.

The date cannot be "1940", because in 1940 "Austria" did not exist; it was assimilated into Germany by the Nazis in 1938 and not re-partitioned until the end of the war. "1946" would be my best guess at your date.
