Hello guys, after some advice or opinion about a 1991 Uncirculated mint set I have. The one cent piece appears to have a significant diecrack across the face of the obverse and a smaller one behind the neck. [can almost guarantee it is a diecrack not a scratch] There is another on the reverse which looks more like a scratch. Diecrack or scratches these are beneath the clear plastic packaging, not on the plastic. There is minor scratches and sother damage to the coin in several places also. I'll supply pics if anyone wants them. Thanks for any thoughts.

It looks like a huge scratch to me and it also has a lot of blemishes to be in an uncirculated set.

Hi junjun it looks awful heh! Back is worse. Tha patch on the hair is just the plastic contacting the coin, it isn't a mark. It is in a sealed set and the diecrack between the Queen's mouth and the A of Australia is in relief [raised as a diecrack is], where a scratch would be incused. The rest of the diecrack just looks like a scratch but is not incuse. I'll get a pic of the back shortly.

Back of the same coin. I apologize for the quality of the photos but it's difficult through the packaging.

This photo shows the diecrack is in relief not incuse. [well it shows me anyway lol] but I do have the coin in hand which makes a big difference.

Well darge, now after you have said the line is in relief and not incuse I can say that definitely it is a die crack but still hard to tell by the pictures.

Hi junjun, my dilemma is that if I remove it from the set to take clearer photos it becomes just another diecrack and the blemishes would detract greatly from it too. Within the set it "may" have some value to an error collector. I guess I was trying to get opinions about whether it is worth keeping as an error set or not. I could sell the rest of the coins individually and bin the cent but just thought I would ask all the members here. Obviously I should have showered first.

Thanks for that junjun, I'd be more than content with those prices.
