There's a Seated Lady on the front with HONOR on her shield holding a flag and the date below her 1866. On the reverse is a man with a wreath of flowers around and a bow at the bottom. It is the same size and color of a silver dollar. My grandmother gave this coin to me 40 years ago and said that it was from the World's Fair. Any help identifying it would be great!:)

Hello and welcome.

It isn't a real coin, but a medal or "fantasy dollar" of some kind. If you didn't give the story of how you had obtained it, I would have assumed it was one of numerous similar items that are coming out of China these days. Do you know which "world's fair" she might have obtained it at? I would have assumed an official commemorative medal would have named the fair, so this was likely just something sold at a nearby souvenir booth.

I can't help you on identifying the medal, but I noticed that one sold as a Buy it Now on ebay last month for $35 (plus $4 shipping).

That one didn't sell. It just ended and the seller relisted it for the same price. Big difference, and a very common mistake.

It means that it is worth less than $39 since no one will buy it at that price. I'm guessing someone *might* pay $5 tops for it. No guarantees.

The Exposition universelle d'art et d'
industrie de 1867 (The 1867 World's Fair) was held in Paris starting in April. Perhaps one of your grandmother' grandparents waws iinvolved in planning the American entry.
IF it is contempory I do not think it came from the fair itself as it has a decidely American design.
My bet would be that it is honoring someone important in the American planning. it could have been a small issue given to direct members only. There are no names or anything as everyone knew the person on the back.
If it is not contempory (which I think is likely) then it could be just about anything from a forgery to a game piece to some sort of honorarium.
If it were mine from my grandmother I would look into it further.
