Besides my other thread for the dollar bills, I found about 100 different silver certificates in $1-$5-$10-$20 denominations signed by all types of people. Buzz Aldrin, lauren becall, rodney dangerfield, someone involved with the hindenberg, alot of millitary people(i cant make out their names, only ranks) pat cooper, sammy davis jr etc. there are sports figures, actors, just about every genre you can think of. My questions are #1 are the notes worth anything, or are they considered defaced now #2 are they worth anything with the sig on them? I will make a complete list and upload some pics within the hour. Thanks.

Unless the note is rare, the value lies in the autograph. There are some nice names listed.

Sounds like you may have what's called a "Short snorter," the one with military signatures. We'll know for sure when pics come.

I'd be very interested in a Buzz Aldrin "anything". In the astronomy world I'm what's known as a "Lunatic". (Someone who studies the moon.) I have a book full of lunar sketches I've done at the eyepiece. If it's genuine & your interested in parting with it, send me a pm.

Coppercastle I will let you know. I wanna go through them and google names to see who some are. I googled one last night and it was general pattons driver lol. Pretty cool. There were alot of old sporta guys (goose gossage, virgil trycks, yogi berra on a huge dollar bill from 1915), a bunch of tuskeegee airmen, fighter pilots from ww1 and ww2, jeffery dahmer, about another dozen serial killers, the guy who shot john lennon, the guy who shot the pope, colin powel, john glenn, joe peshi, dan akroyd, harry houdinis assistant. Those are off the top of my head that I can remember. Its actually very cool stuff

Astronauts are your biggest money autographs from what you've mentioned. Quality/condition of the signature, which assists in authenticating them, are the key. While very familiar with autographs, I've never paid attention to killers' signature sales, so that's interesting.

Lauren Bacall just passed, so you might want to hang on to that one in case anybody might still remember her. Silver Screen actress signed a Silver Certificate, kind of thing might be interesting.
