Hi guys, I hope I have found the correct section to post this.

While out riding and building some BMX jumps (I'm 15 years old) I found a green coin in the ground, looked the diametre of a normal 10c coin but I thought I may as well pick it up and pocket it. There was nothing which I could see visually to determine what coin it was so I went home and scrubbed off the green stuff of it and after wards I later found it was a 88 year old 1919 Half Penny. My question is, is it worth anything especially in this condition.

Here are some pictures.

Hi WDavis, and welcome to the Coin Community Forum. I hope that you enjoy the time you spend here.
Feel free to ask any questions, no questions regarding coins or notes is too silly or too small!
Now the bad news: the coin you found is (at most) worth fifty-cents. But keep looking - you never know.

Congratulations on your find! Even if it is not worth very much I'm sure you must have had a thrill to find a coin so old.
