This is going to be my first actual purchase of an ancient coin and obviously I am not very knowledgeable when it comes to detecting fakes, anyways I was looking at this coin:

Roman-Republic,-Q-Marcius,-Libo,-148-BC-Denarius,-Vcoins

It is selling for US $35, and I think it looks real. Any input from someone who knows more about them? Also, is Vcoins always reliable?

Vcoins sellers are held to high standards. The coin is authentic and reasonably priced for the type and condition. Congratulations on your impending first ancient coin purchase!

For your first ancient coin you did very well. This is a very nice example. You can't go wrong if you buy on Vcoins.

I have another (probably stupid) question about vcoins. The site that Vcoins brought me to, and the site that actually showed the coin was called Aegean numismatics. So are these sites like Aegean Numismatics vcoin "dealers" and are they as reliable as vcoins itself? Sorry if these seem like dumb questions but I wasnt sure if Aegean Numismatics was an actual reliable dealer for vcoins.

Vcoins is a site which hosts virtual stores for individual dealers. Aegean is one of those dealers.

On the Vcoins home page you will notice a couple of links in the Ancient Coins box, one to display all the individual dealers ("view stores") and another to view the coins ("view coins").

I've bought a number of coins and books from Vcoins dealers and had the pleasure of meeting some of them at the ANA World's Fair of Money earlier this month. All of the folks I met were friendly and helpful.
