Not sure if it was caused when the die was being finished before being put into production or something caused it in production. Report this Post to the Staff

lambecolin Pillar of the Community Canada 618 Posts	Posted 08/24/2014 4:10 pm The exit wound from the M shows an abrupt exit from underneath the M---if this is a scratch the exit speed of the scratch would have to equal the speed of light. If the scratch was in the direction of the head-----there would be scratch evidence on the side of the M, on matter what speed. Report this Post to the Staff
pennysaver Pillar of the Community Canada 937 Posts	Posted 08/24/2014 9:50 pm It looks like die scratches/tool marks to me, too. Don't forget, only the smooth upper surface of the die (which would be the lowest part of the coin design -- the field) would have the scratch on it. The letters could show those lines coming out of their sides, but wouldn't necessarily have any marks actually running partly up them. Report this Post to the Staff
