Evidence of filing, but the surfaces look good to me. Style looks good. Green spots/verdigris are encouraging. Wear looks legit. Perhaps this was mounted (as a pendant or other piece of jewelry) at some point in its past, thus accounting for the filing?

very rare.

Real? The softness of the legend sort of bothers me. Take it to a major coin show and get some opinions. Definitely worth the effort.

I am viewing on my phone so I am at a slight disadvantage.
The coin does not look too bad really although the edges do need better examination.
What I do notice though is that the 'clean' areas look more like bronze. The coin should be orichalcum !
Bronze is much easier to cast than 'brass'. Someone with a backyard casting operation would have an easier go with bronze (so I have been told)
For this reason I think you might be sceptical of this one
Tempting though it seems !

Thanks FR I am leaving it. If I am going to buy something that is that rare, I would rather it was in better condition. I will still watch it with interest.

Edit: here is the link if anybody is interested:

There are good and bad points to this coin, the thickness and age on the surface look good but the strick looks a bit odd to me. Also looks a bit tooled in some spots. If's it's a copy it's not a recent one.

If it was a fiver in a bargain bin, then I would have it. I think it will go substantially higher than that.
